ProdPro data shows New York’s production spending jumped 87%, with ProdPro clients Wildflower Studios and Mayor's Office of Media & Entertainment sharing what the recovery looks like on the ground.

New York’s production recovery is translating into fuller stages and busier streets. Deadline’s latest feature cites ProdPro’s data showing an 87% year-over-year increase in New York production spending in Q3, bringing the state within striking distance of California.

The story features ProdPro clients Wildflower Studios and the NYC Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME), offering a firsthand look at the momentum.

“We’re completely full,” Wildflower founder and managing partner Adam Gordon tells Deadline. The Astoria studio, developed by Gordon alongside Robert De Niro and his son, Raphael De Niro, now has a waitlist of productions. Raphael describes hundreds of people working at the facility, which has hosted productions including Severance and Focker-in-Law.

At MOME, Film Commissioner Rafael Espinal describes a summer recovery that exceeded his team’s expectations. Deadline explores how stronger state incentives, faster permitting and better coordination across city agencies are helping bring productions back. Gordon also credits Espinal with helping productions navigate the city and resolve problems.

It’s great to see our clients’ work reflected in both the data and the activity on the ground. More production means more opportunity for the crews, vendors and local businesses that keep New York filming.
